Maui Humane Society seeks donations and volunteers with $10K matching campaign
Maui Humane Society is announcing their $10,000 match campaign starting on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022. Giving Tuesday is an annual celebration, occurring Tuesday after Thanksgiving annually, dedicated to nonprofits around the world. Friends of Maui Humane Society, Mason and Trudy Williams have offered a $10,000 matching donation throughout the month of December, starting on Giving Tuesday. “Your donation will go twice as far, saving twice the lives of Maui’s homeless animals,” said MHS representatives.

There’s another animal overpopulation issue on Maui. Maui Humane Society says it’s actually a guinea pig and rabbit problem, and right now, has over 50 of the small animals. It has capacity for only 20.

Maui Humane Society is struggling to find pet parents. They are desperately trying to find homes for not only their dogs, but their cats, bunny rabbits, even guinea pigs. “If you don’t have an outdoor space, cats are great to have. Same with our guinea pigs and our rabbits,” said Maui Humane Society Marketing and Communications Director Katie Shannon.

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – It was an emotional reunion for a dog slashed with a machete on Maui. Draped in lei at Maui Humane Society, “Tommy Boy” flew to Oahu on Tuesday and jumped into the arms of his owner at Honolulu’s airport. The two hadn’t seen each other in three years, ever since Tommy Boy was lost.
